Our trip to Maui

I love Hawaii! We just got back a few weeks ago. We decided to take the kids and take a much needed break. We took them back to where we had gone before because of the skate parks(for Zack) and all the kids activities.

This is the courtyard of our hotel. It was so beautiful!

Here we have Zack's creative luggage skills. Who says you can't get anywhere being lazy.

This is after our lei making class. Yes, we all made the leis we are wearing.

This was at the magic show. All the kids get to go on stage.

Even Jerry got to go onstage. For some reason he still can't figure out how he cut her in half.

The kids took ukelele lessons. They are actually pretty good.

This is how Malia jumps off of black rock. It took her a half hour and some threats. She finally jumped.

Zack is jumping off of the rock. This was at the urging of Mark(cousins husband). He is very convincing.

They really, really liked the boogie boarding.

This was the wall of the old fort in Lahaina. It is made out of coral. Malia really loved the historic places that we got to see.

This is the waterfall that we hiked 2 miles to see. We went through the bamboo forest and had a blast. (I can't upload images apparently)

This is walking through the bamboo forest.

Here is a picture of the family. The kids are thrilled about the 2 mile hike. They did like it once they got into the bamboo.

Here is a cool banyon tree that we walked by. It was HUGGGEEEE!!!!!!

We went to the 7 pools. So many things to do and so little time.

The 7 pools! It was beautiful!!

Hiking to the pools!!

Posing in front of the ocean. That is the big Island of Hawaii in the background.

The state park right outside of Hana. We loved the black sand beach and all of the stuff to look at.

The road to Hana! You gotta love it.

We had plenty of time for sandcastles and boogie boarding. In fact my back and butt still hurt from trying to teach them how to dive through the big waves. I think I bruised my tailbone.

We had a blast! We took the kids snorkling for the first time. They loved it. We got to see manarays and giant turtles.

Mammoth Mountail Vacation

We just returned from our first vacation of the year. We drove down to Eastern California just below Yosemite. Why, you ask???(ME TOO!) Jerry wanted to race his motorcycle. Yes, another motorcycle vacation. I gave in. I needed to get away after 6 months without enough time off from HP to keep my sanity.

It was hot and way up in the mountains. This town mad Philomath look really big. One good thing that we got to do was stop in Bodie, CA. It is a ghost town in eastern California. It was really cool to see all of the history. Malia really likes it, but Zack thought that it was stupid.

I also got a new camera for our anniversary gift. I love my new camera. It is sooooo cool. I took so many pictures that it took me two hours to download them all.

Back to the story............
We spent a few days at the motorcycle track and Jerry made it to the main event to figure out that he was actually 50 years old and the younger boys are insane. I thought that part was hilarious.

Malia decided that her little swimming towel, which has Ariel on it was a hat. She took the towel and put the corner on her head. Then she took that Vans hat(that she got for free at the track) on over the top. She put her swimming goggles on and started rapping about what a pimp the queen princess was. I got a video of her singing "Yo, yo I am Ariel, the rap star and I want ya'll to listen up." The camera was jumping around so much because I was laughing so hard. She is such a comedian.

The last day at the field

Today was the last day of little league. Of course in Oregon it was raining off and on. So I asked Malia if she wanted to have a blanket until she went up to bat. She turned and gave me the "Duh Mom" look. She said "No, I am going to take it like a man"! Which had everyone rolling in the dirt. My little comedian.

Zack is off to a birthday party and we are going to go see Land of the Lost. It looks so funny. I will have to let you all know when I get home.

I am still hobbling around for 5 more weeks because I am an idiot and broke my big toe. You should all know that flip flops are a very dangerous form of footwear. I think that I am going to stick with stilettos. Well I am off!
